# Retirement appointments for annuity advisors

> Slate books held Zoom appointments with retirees who have $250,000 or more to move. You pay per appointment that shows up. A no-show is replaced, not billed.

HTML version, with an interactive ROI calculator: https://slategtm.com/advisors

## The offer

We run the ads, teach the prospect what an annuity is, verify on the phone that they have at least $250,000 they can move, and book them onto your calendar. You pay per held appointment.

An appointment counts when the prospect shows up to the meeting. If they cancel, no-show, or turn out not to meet the criteria, it is replaced at no charge. You have two business days after each meeting to flag one that missed a criterion.

## Run your own numbers

The calculator on the HTML page takes five inputs and does the arithmetic:

- Average annuity case (premium per closed case)
- Commission rate (typical fixed indexed annuity range is 5 to 8 percent)
- Held appointments per month
- Your close rate on held appointments
- Price per held appointment (the number quoted on the call, priced by the prospect's asset tier)

It returns commission per closed case, closed cases per month, gross commission per month, appointment cost per month, net commission after appointment costs, return on appointment spend, and how many held appointments one closed case pays for.

Worked example at the default settings: a $400,000 case at 7 percent is $28,000 per close. Ten held appointments at a 25 percent close rate is 2.5 cases, or $70,000 in gross commission. Ten appointments at $2,000 each cost $20,000. Net is $50,000, a 3.5x return, and one closed case pays for 14 held appointments.

Illustration only. The outputs are arithmetic on the numbers entered, not a projection of results or a promise of any commission, close rate, or case size. Slate books appointments and does not sell or recommend insurance products.

## How it works

1. **Advertising.** We run ads under a neutral retirement education brand. A short quiz sorts people by age, savings, and what worries them about retirement. The advisor's name is never in an ad.
2. **Education.** Before any call, the prospect watches a plain-English explainer covering the three annuity types and the questions to ask.
3. **Verification.** Our US-based team calls every lead, confirms at least $250,000 in assets they can move, confirms they want to discuss annuity options, then books the advisor's calendar and introduces the advisor by name.

## Who this works for

Good fit:

- Independent, annuity-first producers writing $2 million or more a year in premium
- Typical case of $250,000 and up
- Comfortable closing over Zoom without an office visit or a dinner seminar
- Already paying for leads or seminars and unhappy with show rate
- Licensed in the states we send

Not a fit:

- Wants pay-per-close or a guaranteed premium number
- Closes only in person after a workshop
- Under $100,000 minimum case size, or any-amount practices
- Wants ads run under the advisor's own name

## The next step

A 30-minute call about your market. We look at your states, your case size, and how many appointments you can take, then quote a price per held appointment. Orders start at three appointments.
